One thing one of the dog trainers pointed out was that if I were to re-home Kona myself, I would have then been liable for any injury she would have done to someone else, which is why the trainer recommended that I return her to the shelter.

If I had had less of a conscience, I would have just lied to the shelter, or to someone else and told them she just wasn’t a good fit for our family. But I would never be able to rest easy knowing someone would go through the same thing we did.
